Hello
My mum gave me some cuttings for our very bare garden which she said would grow into trees. She didn’t know what they were as she’d got a bit mixed up so we planted them anyway! One has taken really well but I was wondering if anyone could identify it? Many thanks :-)

Does anyone know what this is? Thank you!

Lilac possibly? Looks like it's getting ready to flower so then it should be easier to identify.

If you download the app "picture this" you can take a picture and it tells you the plant! It's amazing!

It looks like pussy willow - Salix caprea. Willows root easily from cuttings, unlike most other trees, so is a likely candidate.

I agree with Willow. Smile

I agree it looks like a willow. Did it have lovely little grey fluffy 'buds' on it before the flowering heads?

Thank you very much for the replies! And i have downloaded the app which says you are all correct - it’s willow Smile

Looks like a female plant. The traditional pussies are the male plant, with pollen bearing flowers.
