I've potted it in erricaous compost but the leaves have gone yellow/red

I've watered it every day in hot weather

I don’t think there is anything wrong. I have a number of planted camellias and the flowers are now dying off.

That just looks like new growth?

Dodie66 · 11/04/2020 16:33

Yes those are new shoots. They are that colour to start with.the flowers will die off especially if there is a frost

I've got two camellias in different parts of the garden and they are both suffering at the moment. I don't think they like the weather, and I reckon there is some sort of rust disease going about as well. I'm going to give mine a shot of seaweed/sequestered iron feed and see if that does any good.

Definitely new growth. Feed it once it has finished flowering, mine is always poor after flowering. I think they put a lot of energy into blooming.
And give plenty water in August for next years buds Smile

My camellia has just finished flowering, produced the most flowers it has ever done. It looks a bit of a mess at the moment as it has dead beige petals everywhere, I will take them off carefully this afternoon and give it a feed. Looks as though yours is a very new one OP, well done for getting it to flower in its first year. Give it a feed, I give everything in my garden that flowers a handful of pelleted chicken manure .
