Has anyone used ‘garden on a roll’

I have a large empty flowerbed that’s going to take a lot of filling, the problem is I know nothing about plants - this is my first garden and I’m pretty confused about things like spacing, what should where etc.

I’ve seen these garden in a roll sets that look ideal for me. I particularly liked this one from Homebase.

I’ve got a few questions, if anyone can help -

Are these deals as good as they look? I don’t mind paying more for the service then I would if I bought the plants individually, but it’s a lot to spend if it’s a ‘gimmick’.

I was wanting to order this summer when the lockdown has hopefully ended, but will it be too late in the year? Should I wait until next spring?

I want to support independent businesses, so can anyone recommend a nursery that does online deliveries?

Thank you for any help or advice you can chuck my way Grin

OP try these

www.beebombs.com/

We used them last year and the results were amazing. They grow really fast . I'll try to dig some photos out. We had Bees and Butterflies everywhere! A lot less expensive too.

No idea, but I hadn’t heard of these and it looks like a good idea to me. My garden is full of overgrown shrubs and weeds. :/ . Hopefully someone with more experience will come along.

Bee bombs are fab :)

Thanks, I’ve just ordered a bee bomb to try 😀

I saw these last night, unfortunately we don’t have a bed the right size for them but I would definitely do it if I could x

@ALovelyBitOfSquirrel I’ve heard these are amazing, I’d love to see photos!!
I’ve got an area of lawn that I want to rotavate and replace with bee bombs and have a meadow instead of the crappy grass I’ve got just now.

It looks lovely! But I wonder if people on here could identify the plants for you instead?

I might actually buy this next year
