Anyone know what this little plant is?

I got given this yesterday along with lots of others and forgot to ask what it is and how to grow it .

Any suggestions?

I think that's an aquilegia or columbine, very pretty and comes up every year.

Aquilegia. They self seed like mad once they've flowered. I love them. Easy peasy fillers of beds once the (also self seeded) forget me nots have flowered

Yes "granny's bonnet" or Aquilegia it appreciates rain water, but don't over water it. It expands but I've never noticed it self seeding everywhere, I wish!!

They do self seed but they're gorgeous, I'm aiming to fill up my garden with them this year!
