Is this cat poo, or something else? Appeared yesterday or day before. No smell, extremely dry, about 6cm long.

Yesssss!!!!! I am unreasonably excited! I'm surprised though because we don't live that rurally and our garden is not that big and fenced with no obvious holes. Anyone want to share tips for helping them and catching a glimpse?

Thanks for the replies.

My dad used to put a dish with catfood out for them, then we'd hear it clattering the dish and go out.

We used to get hedgehogs a lot in our old garden, we were on the edge of an estate near to a wooded area and always had loads of slugs about so they fed well!

We don’t get then anymore even though we’re on the same estate, we’re just too far away from the wood now.

They like untidy gardens where they can hide under shrubs and branches. If you don’t have a pond, leave out a dish of water so they can drink, especially in hot weather.

We sometimes put cat biscuits out but they find their own food and like to forage under the bird feeders.

Yep, definitely hedgehog. They usually have a very punctual routine and come out once it's dark. The trouble is trying to establish what time he/she visits your garden each night. It could be 9pm or 4am 😬
I leave out cat nuts & water. Mine used to patrol our garden at 9pm in the autumn, so was easy to know when to expect him, but I haven't seen him yet this spring despite checking every 15 minutes but I know he's still there, due to the poo and eaten nuts

I hope you see yours Smilef
