Where to buy seeds

I've spent the evening filling my basket on MoreVeg only to have them bring the site down when I went to check out. I'm practically in tears .

Can anyone recommend an alternative for buy veg seeds online? In particular a place with small packets. I don't need to grow 25 aubergine plants!

Premier seeds are no longer taking orders either -i just got mine in!

Seekay? Doesn't say they're NOT?
Otherwise, my Lidl has a good range so you could try a shop there in hope?

Thompson and Morgan?

The Range
B and M
You could sneak the seeds in your basket with your essential shopping items.

Amazon sell seeds and potato tubers.

Dobies?

Asda sell seeds, you could buy them when you go for groceries. Also available on the online shop for deliveryin my area, if you have a delivery slot.

Try forthergills and Thompson and Morgan. Both are much slower than usual because they are protecting their staff by distancing them in the warehouse etc, but worth waiting if you can.

I ordered some seeds from Thompson and Morgan at the weekend, no problems at all. I'm assuming they may take a while, very glad to hear they're spacing their workers out Sylvia.

I'd guess they may be reasonably well placed to cope because they've always done a lot of mail order, and as they usually supply nurseries and garden centres which are now shut they're probably not short of stock for most things.

eBay

Our local garden centre is doing click and collect or will deliver locally for free if you are self isolating. Lidl have seeds in and our local Health Food shop has organic seeds and is also doing click and collect.

It might be worth checking out your local shops Smile

Try Marshall’s or Kings Seeds - again, both taking much longer than usual ( which is completely understandable in the circumstances)

KillingEvenings · 31/03/2020 21:35

Thanks everyone. Got my order in after a cheeky email to HQ. Realise it may be a bit of wait (our local sorting office is apparently operating with only 40% of its usual staff Sad) but I can dig out and prep the seed trays and what not as that usually is my biggest hurdle anyway!

Sainsbury’s has lots of seeds. They were cheap too.

FunTimeSummer · 31/03/2020 21:43

I've just finished amending my food delivery for tomorrow with Asda and noticed they have tonnes of seeds on sale, I wouldn't have thought to try there. They were about the only things in stock.

FlamingoAndJohn · 31/03/2020 21:45

Ocado sell seeds now, if you can get an order on that is.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 01/04/2020 10:12

Glad you’re sorted OP Smile

Thompson and Morgan weren't taking orders when I was on last night but they did say to keep checking back
