Indoor plant--name it?

Hi all

Does anyone know what this plant is called and is it a flowering plant?

Also, I've noticed the top layer of the stalk looking dry/white/flaky, is this normal?

The roots also seem to have lifted, does it need re-potting and if so, how do I do this?

Sorry, I am new to all of this plant thing, so please talk to me in very plain English 😂

Thank you :)

It's an orchid I think, possibly dendrobium. If you google 'dendrobium care' loads of info pops up. And yes, the stalks do have that dry flaky outer part that eventually peels off.

It’s a dendrobium. Mine flowers on one new stem each year. They are pretty to easy to care for compared to other orchids, just put them somewhere that’s not too cold and dry. Above your kitchen sink or in a bathroom is good.
