He was on Radio 4 the other morning. I love his voice!

LittleBearPad · 20/03/2020 20:48

Hurrah - a small light in a horrid tunnel

RedDiamond · 20/03/2020 21:03

I think if most of us do end up at home in the next few weeks, then spending time in the garden is going to be to therapeutic. I know it does me good. And maybe I may grow vegetables a lot more and look after them better as I may have more time.

Did you notice how Nellie/ Nigel rolled their eyes when Monty pruned the rose without gloves. I was also shouting that he needed to protect his hands 😄
My seeds have already sprouted since I planted them last Saturday - I always like it when I have already ticked off some of the jobs for the weekend

flindorama · 21/03/2020 10:18

I love watching Gardner's World and Beechgrove (which will start up soon I hope). It's very calming.

MereDintofPandiculation · 21/03/2020 14:10

Did you notice how Nellie/ Nigel rolled their eyes when Monty pruned the rose without gloves. Is one supposed to wear gloves while pruning roses?

I'd never wear one on my right hand while pruning or sawing - I need the good control, I need to feel what I'm holding. At most I wear one on my left hand.

ChampooPapi · 27/03/2020 10:23

Hi does anyone remember which tomatoes monty plated that were small and ribbed in appearance.

We are wanting to plant the smaller beefcake variety

ChampooPapi · 29/03/2020 10:51

Oh God I obviously meant 'beef steak' 😆

I found out so thought I'd post here , the smaller ribbed variety were called 'Cuore di Bue' 🍅

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 03/04/2020 22:06

I loved it tonight, but where was Monty? Sad
I missed the beginning

Pineappletree33 · 03/04/2020 22:28

I thought due to Coronavirus they were having to film slightly different, I’m sure he mentioned last week they’d be filming from each Presenters garden. But I could have totally made that up. Missed it this week.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 03/04/2020 22:32

That would make sense @Pineappletree33

7Days · 03/04/2020 23:03

I hope that's the case. Though I would have thought it would have been mentioned. Though maybe, say little and you wont have to say more.

LittleBearPad · 04/04/2020 10:24

It was mentioned at the end of last weeks episode that this week’s episode would be from Adam’s and then Monty would be back. I think they’re sharing it out as filming must be more tricky.

ChipsyChopsy · 04/04/2020 10:26

I don't usually enjoy Adam-fronted shows, but I really thought he was great last night. Hit the tone perfectly.

billysboy · 04/04/2020 10:27

I think Adam said that he is back next week , he has a lovely way about him

Gardeners world feels like a real indulgence at the moment

LittleBearPad · 04/04/2020 10:33

Ah, I haven’t seen last nights yet. I love Gardeners World - it’s one of my happy places.

livingthegoodlife · 04/04/2020 19:36

Inspired by gardeners world I showed a few carrots in a trough today!

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 17/04/2020 09:28

I've loved Adam, he's so gentle and calming. And he makes it all look so easy.
But I'm beyond excited about Monty's return tonight 😆

ThomasHardyPerennial · 17/04/2020 10:07

I also really enjoyed Adam presenting, and I love his garden! He has a sense of humour, and doesn't take himself too seriously.

ppeatfruit · 17/04/2020 10:10

I love Adam. He was my hero Geoff Hamilton's protege` . I like his cat who thought that he was making his (the cat's) supper when he was planting out seeds in a foil tray!

I love this programme too, I record it and was watching some repeats, did anyone see the 'Daffodil Society' one? Daffy being a good description of the participants !!!

VenusClapTrap · 17/04/2020 10:58

I love Adam too. Dare I say it, I prefer him to Monty. I’m going to have to buy one of those short handled planting spades that he was using, because that looked like such a perfect tool.

I thought the daffodil society was amazing. I might have to join - I enter my daffs in the village show and I have quite an extensive collection of varieties. I could very easily end up as a daffodil eccentric shoving cotton wool up my trumpets...

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 17/04/2020 11:07

And remember, it's on at the earlier time of 8pm this evening.

ppeatfruit · 17/04/2020 13:18

Venus I'm surprised you're not a fully paid up daft Daff Club member!!! I can't mock because I planted some lovely 'traditional' narcissi in October and they are just blooming, they're beautiful AND (importantly) they have a lovely perfume!!

VenusClapTrap · 17/04/2020 15:11

Oh I adore the perfumed ones. I have a case of Thalia on the kitchen table and the scent is gorgeous!
