Thinking of growing some veg with the kids to give us something to do during lockdown....

Any suggestions?

Tomatoes, chillis and peppers can all be sown now and will germinate on a sunny windowsill. I’ve just sown my peas too in loo roll tubes.

cress ! You will have something to eat in a week

lettuce, pea shoots, sprouting seeds like bean sprouts will give you very quick results

In about 3 weeks I will sow all of my seeds for the summer. Tomatoes, basil, courgettes, French beans, pumpkin, broad beans and lettuce. I will have enough for the summer.

In fact I still have some courgettes, pumpkins and tomatoes in the freezer from last year!

I bought some cut and come again lettuce split it up and potted on individual pots and you can do the same with basil easy quick and tasty results. I have also planted carrots in big pots in a 50/50 mix of sand and compost
