Hello,

I hope someone can help. I have been painting our fencing with Ron seal paint but after less than a year its turning green. We dont have loads of trees in the garden but we are close to a stream. Can anyone recommend a paint that doesn't need to be reapplied every year? Thanks!

Can you not remove the algae with soapy water and a stiff brush?

I'd wash it off. They can go green because it doesn't get enough sunlight

Which paint? I used the fence life+ and it hasn't done this.

It may be the shade issue, not the paint

It's a huge amount of fencing to just brush it off, I was hoping for magic paint that stops it from reappearing.

Did you scrub the algae off before you painted it the first time? Algae is water repellant so fence treatment won’t properly adhere to any surface that that’s to got it on and will just show through.

The only way is to scrub or pressure wash the fence and the start again.

Ime Cuprinol ducks back is the best fence treatment bit even that will go green if it’s a really shady area.
