I bought some in pots in half term, but sort of forgot about them...

Is it too late for me to plant them into containers if i do it today?

As long as they're still alive you can plant them out.

Have they gone all leggy? I find there's not much coming back from that, pinching out doesn't really work.

If they're still compact plants you can deadhead any spent flower heads which will encourage more flowers. They cease flowering in subzero temperatures ime so it depends how mild December is as to whether you get a display!

Might be worth getting some bulbs in asap if you want a spring display. I've seen them still on sale in Homebase and B&Q.
