Hi gardeners,

Well, after yesterday's torrential rain, I want to get out today and plant green manure seeds in my veg boxes..but is it too late?
Thanks for any advice.

Happy Sunday gardening everyone! Smile

You can but try. Better today than in a week's time.Grin If they don't germinate now they probably will in the spring. Remember anything can be used as green manure, the species actually grown for green manure are chosen because a) they don't have persistent roots, so once you dig them in they will rot and not regenerate b) the germinate and grow rapidly c) they may be able to "fix" nitrogen from the air and increase fertility. What I'm really saying is don't worry too much about "weeds" growing better than your green manure, everything can be used.

@MereDintofPandiculation.. thank you, that's really helpful. I'm afraid that again i didn't get round to it! The ground is such heavy clay and it's like a mud bath out there atm. Pathetic excuse i realise!
