Mildew on climbing rose

Has anyone had any issues with mildew on roses? My new climbing rose called 'Iceberg' is covered and i keep pulling the affected leaves off as i have read, but at this rate there'll be none left! It was planted just a few weeks ago and i added rose feed and watered every 2-3 days. Thanks.

Spray with Roseclear.

Or just don't worry about it. And try to prevent it by giving it more water - with the dry July is probably needed 2 gallons every day.

It's illuminating to poke your finger into the ground after watering - I've often found that after an apparent good watering, with the top surface soaked, half an inch down I have dry dust.

That's a good tip, thanks. My soil is heavy clay and i thought it would retain water so that's why i haven't watered it too frequently. I was also worried it would get root rot. There's heavy rain forecast tomorrow so it won't need any then
