What's this on my indoor palm?

and more importantly, what should I do about it?

I am NOT GOOD at keeping house plants alive, but I really want this one to be ok.

If it helps, the white bits are dusty, the black bits are raised spots on the leaves.

It’s powdery mildew. I think you can get some fungicide for it, but I had heard that washing down the leaves and stem with a bi carb solution works. About a teaspoon of bi carb to a litre of water.

I don't think it's mildew, looks more like some sort of bug, maybe mealy bugs. You could gently wipe the fronds with diluted washing up liquid which should remove it, and it might kill any bugs.

Thank you! I gave it a washing up liquid bath over the weekend, and it looks better already. I just hope I've not killed it with suds.
