DIY cloches for pots?

I have some plants in pots that I don't have space to overwinter this year and want to make some sort of cloche, nothing that requires great skill though. Ideally I would get my hands on one of those water dispenser bottle things but that is unlikely so not sure what is the next best thing?

Any tried/tested ones?

Depending on how large you want, halves of 2 litre pop bottles can work.

For a large pot you could get a trellis or plant support and cover it with thick polyethylene (like the type you get on cheap foldable greenhouses). You can buy mini polytunnel type things too. Maybe boost it up in bricks each size to get the height right,. But you'd need to peg it down well so the wind didn't get under and blow it away
