Plant ID. Weed? Looks a little bit philodendron.

This plant/weed is driving me mad as I’ve asked lots of people what it is and no one seems to know. Someone did suggest it looked a bit like a type of philodendron that usually grows in more tropical climes but 🤷‍♀️.

I thought it was a weed at first but it has been quite slow growing so now I’m not so sure.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Looks like Acanthus, which some see as a nuisance, but others like.

Agree, looks like Acanthus which can be a thug.

And it has very spiky flowers stems on it.

I have it on the boundary where the children do not play.

Oh wow. Thank you so much. Mystery solved. Now that I’ve looked at some images I realise my neighbour has some in her garden but I’ve only seen them in bloom.

I think I’ll move it to the other side of the garden as it’s growing in an awkward place.
