Diseased plum tree - any advice?

The plum tree in our garden is laden with fruit. However, as they ripen they seem diseased and have a covering of yellowish spots.

We’ve lived here just under a year so I’m not sure how long this has been a problem.

Does anyone know if there’s anything that can be done to rectify this?

TIA

Looks like Brown Rot. Take off any affected fruit and dispose of them (not into your compost heap)

@MereDintofPandiculation

Thanks for taking the time to reply - sorry - didn’t realise anyone had responded. I’ve disposed of as many of the rotted fruits as I can reach. I’ve picked some that look ok on the outside but have a lot of spotting on the flesh inside so not sure if it’s ok to eat.

Keep an eye on the remaining fruit, pick as early as you can. Perhaps a little under-ripe even.
