Lawn edging: DIY or professional?

Hi all,

Complete novice here! I have a new garden which is all lawn, right up to the fence in every direction, and I want to add a mower edge and some borders. Is this something anyone has done themselves, or would I be stupid to try it and should just give in and hire a professional?

You could do it yourself but it's some pretty heavy labour.

If you have the time then do it yourself. If you have the money then get someone in.

Agree with above. Can definitely be done yourself but if you’ve got the money get someone to do it for you.
