Anyone trained wisteria up a house wall?

Buying a house with ugly pipe work on back south facing wall. Thinking about planting a wisteria, any advice welcomed. Did the vine eyes damage the wall? It’s peppledash render.

We have brick, not pebbledash, so I can't be sure, but we had no problem screwing the vine eyes in to our wall. DH just used a masonry drill bit and rawlplugs. You can't see them from a distance.

Best advice I got (too late) was to buy a wisteria that is already flowering or a grafted plant, as otherwise you might be waiting a very long time for it to flower (4 years min, maybe as long as 16!!).

Ours has grown very fast - maybe 3-4m in 2 years.

That’s really helpful thank you. I’ll look for a grafted one. Good to know it grows fast.
