We are having the top tier in our garden decked. If we treat the wood each year will it last gor a long time? Or should we expect to have to replace it often?

TIA

we had decing in our old house. If you buy pre treated wood, that will help. It does need abit of TLC, but if you are prepared to treat the wood every year should be fine. It may suffer with green algae in the winter making it slippy, but that just jet washes off.

Thanks furball

Our joiner chappy has recommended the pre treated wood so we are gonna go for it. It's not a problem to get DH to treat it every year either lol

We have some in our garden which is about 7 years old and still ok. I sort of wish now that we hadn't applied a coloured stain to it as that needs going every year tbh - a clear sealant would possibly have been easier to maintain....
