What is this tree?

Can anyone identify this tree in my garden? It is absolutely full of flies and I'm not sure how to deal with it.

Is it a Skimmia? No idea how to get rid of flies though.

It's not a Skimmia. When you say "full of flies", do you mean they're around the flowers and acting as pollinators (quite a lot of plants deliberately attract flies to act as pollinators)? In which case you'll either have to tolerate them or remove the bush.

I had one of these a few years ago and it drove me insane with flies and as it was 2 meters from the house I had flies galore in every room so in the end I removed it as no one knew how to stop the flies. I replaced it the year after with a jasmine plant

Might be Euonymous , they are known for attracting flies as pollinators.
