Please help clueless person with indoor plant

My DH bought me this plant about 7 years ago for an anniversary and despite my best efforts it has stayed alive. But we moved house recently and there seems to be some sort of white stuff on top of the soil (mould?) and Dh thinks the plant is dying, it seems to be dropping to one side. Any idea what it is and how I can revive it? Thanks so much!

Unpot it and check the roots, the compost probably needs renewing, but if the roots are dead, I doubt if it can be saved.

Is the location it's in now similar to where you had it previously, in terms of light etc? If not - as clearly it used to be happy - can you put it somewhere different that would be like its former position?

I have this very one. Seems to thrive near a sunny window. I feed it baby bio and water it regularly.

Might yours need repotting and moving to a brighter spot?

Houseplants can and do sulk!

Like the others have said, repot it, feed it and make sure it's in a sunny ish spot.

And then leave it. Water when it's dry and don't leave it sitting in any water.
