Campanula looking scruffy - what to do?

My Campanula was looking really lovely and in full bloom about a month ago, but now it’s bedraggled and there are bare patches of soil where it used to be growing. Obviously it’s no longer in season and I don’t think the recent torrential rain helped either (flattened it!) Would you tidy it up at this point - and if so how - or just leave?

I don't think it's going to be very easy to tidy up. If you have the patience by all means cut dead bits off, but otherwise just leave it.

Mine was like that last year at one point and I cut all the dead bits off and gave it a handful of growmore. Took ages to cut back but it did flower again and looked fab six weeks later.

Mine looked like this last week too. It was looking fab a few weeks ago, really full of flower and bouncy. I had hoped it would flower all summer as I have some in pots with geraniums, nemesia etc, and some at the front of borders. I’ve cut it all back and will wait and see.

Thanks all. How far do I cut it back? I’m a novice gardener and don’t want to accidentally kill it!
