Does this blackberry need staking? Cutting?

I wondered if anyone could weigh in, who knows more about berries. This plant is two years old now, and branches are growing in two very different directions (circled to distinguish the plant). Does it need attention, or should it be left to grow like this?

Blackberries grow vegetative canes on year which bear flowers and fruit the next. You would normally tie the about-to flower canes in horizontally along a framework a couple of feet from the ground (really difficult to pick berries on the ground, and they're susceptible to slugs). Then any new shoots tie in vertically. At the end of the season, prune shoots that have fruited back to ground level. Untie the new shoots and tie them horizontally, separating them at different heights. And repeat.

That’s really helpful mere, thank you.
