We are doing the side return extension at the moment.

We are now also assessing to redo the back garden, roughly 35sqm2.

The garden is already rid of lawns as its used as building site also the drainage is already done.

What we need is to level the ground, have concrete and lay porceiline tiles. The builder is giving me a quote of 4.5k for the work (not including the tiles).

I want to use the same builder but am surprised by the quote. Can you tell me what you think? Am i being ripped off or out of touch? Cheers.

Doesn't sound far off to me, in south east. We had a quote for £3000 to lay a new patio over approx 30 sq metres. It was already fairly level and did not include the cost of paving slabs. We ended up doing it ourselves.

levelling the ground is the "how long is a piece of string" part of your question. This could take days or minutes depending on what's already there.

It sounds like a decent quote to me. We had our 125sqm patio done last year and had quotes of up to 27K! I'm in the Midlands
