I just moved a compost bin and found this underneath. Are those eggs the ants are carrying away?

They are some poor insect's offspring that the ants are kidnapping. They'll be turned into zombie slaves and be forced to worship the Emperor Ant.

Probably you disturbed their nest and they're carting them off to make another.

It's really hard to tell from the photo as there isn't detail. Can you get a close up? Guessing the size from other stuff in the photo, the colour, description and location, I would suggest fly pupae Envy

Ants must be the most efficient insects, they can clear a nest in minutes if they’re disturbed. It’s kind of fun to watch, they’re just so organised!

Moving their nest. I disturbed one a few weeks ago and a few hours later they had vanished!
