What is this bush?

Does anyone recognise this bush? It flowered a couple of months ago, lots of little white flowers. I'm wondering what it is and when to prune it as it's got a little large!

What is this bush?

It might be Choisya Aztec Pearl? I had one in my last garden and loved it. However it does put on a lot of growth every year. Rule of thumb is prune back anything that flowers in the first half of the year - this shrub included.

Sorry, meant to say prune back after it’s flowered - ie now!

It is, thank you! I'm now going to have to admit to my mum that she was right and prune it!

Grin mums can be right in a lot of things. I think the leaves actually smell really nice when pruning.

They smelt amazing! I've cut it back loads as it was rather taking over. We only moved in last autumn so I'm still trying to figure out what's what and which is worth keeping. So far mostly only the big shrubs!

It’s worth living with a garden for a year to see what there is - can be exciting if you’re into gardening. Also draw a plan with a list of the shrubs, their flower colour and when they flower - spring, summer etc. Shrubs are great to have as other than an annual prune they tend to take care of themselves and look good if they’re happy. I work on the basis that if a shrub is too big for its space and doesn’t like being pruned back to the size I want, then I don’t want it anymore Smile
