Hose attachment guide for idiots

I want to attach a hose to my garden tap and a spray gun to the other end.

I've bought a draper gun spray but can't work out how many connectors I need. I've googled it and watched some videos but can't quite work it out.

Is the connector to the tap the same as the one to the hose? Do I need two of each of these?

Tia

Sorry to be clearer, do I attach these to the tap and the exact same two things to the other end of the hose and then add the spray gun?

I think you need the one with the black ring to attach to the tap then attach the red one to the hose. another red one on the other end of the hose and then the spray gun should just fit into that. So 3 not 4....

Great. I think I get that! Need to put it into practice. Thanks!

Ill probably fit it up just in time for a hosepipe ban

As it's got red on it it probably means it's a shut off connector. Water will only come through once you've connected a spray attachment to it.
Buy yellow hose lock next time.

Thank you!

that first one with the black seal will screw to the outside tap and the thinner end should click into the hose end connector

you want another hose end connector for the other end and generally then any nozzle/spray gun will then click into that in the same way that the hose clicks onto the tap

Mostly they are all compatible these days..but the same brands do tend to fit together better.
