Mahonia

I’ve got a mahonia in my garden and it has gone totally mad and is popping up everywhere. I am thinking about just getting rid of it as it keeps popping up shoots and crowding everything else out. When would be the best time to dig it out? I’m thinking autumn but wanted some advice from those who know more than me!

Also I’m assuming I just need to keep digging until I get all the roots which sounds backbreaking. Is there an easier way?

As soon as it appears remove it. Don't let it flower (they flower in late winter and do smell nice).

Funny I'm trying to move mine and anywhere I've put it it's dying but keeps coming back where It used to be!!

It's always easier to dig anything up when it's rained a lot, I don't think it matters what time of year!!

Sooner the better. Just remember the leaves are proper sharp.
