Can anyone tell me, the plant at the back of the bed with the white at the top. What is it?

Is this a weed?

Did you plant it ? If not it is a weed.

I think it looks like a heuchera but the wild flower rather than a garden variety.

I don't know, but if you like the look of it then keep it. I have self-seeding forget-me-nots everywhere - technically they're weeds as I didn't plant them, but they look amazing.

I think it's enchanters nightshade - a woodland plant with a name prettier than its appearance IMO. I'd say it's a weed in a garden. It's Wikipedia entry says:
'It is only rarely used as a garden plant. When it is, it is typically of a variety known as 'Caveat Emptor', which has leaves that are heavily mottled pink.' ... that name suggests it may be better avoided!Grin

Indeed it is Enchanters Nightshade, however it is a member of the willowherb family, and is not a nightshade at all and therefore not toxic. Likes shaded, woody areas and damp soil. Not a recognised cultivated garden plant, but, as always, this does not make it a 'weed', just something one would prefer not to have in a garden - with this plant, with good reason, as it spreads like wildfire. On the plus side, it is readily pulled out, but inevitably it will come back as one only needs to leave a tiny fragment of root for it to regenerate.

Ok, thank you all. It's not the prettiest so I will try to get rid.
