What's eating my strawberries?

Just pulled these two strawberries off of my plant as I thought they were just rotten for some reason.
But on closer inspection it looks like they're being eaten by some tiny brown insects. They're too small for me to photograph but they were long and thin and a light brown, about 1-2mm long.
Any ideas what they are and how to get rid? The remaining strawberries look fine and don't appear to be being eaten but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
I noticed some flies the other week so I sprayed it with soapy water on the advice of my MIL.
Any advice would be greatfully received.

I thought I'd be able to help as I've had my strawberries eaten by birds, voles, mice and foxes (strawberries were on a shelf in the greenhouse and before I could harvest some big juicy ones they disappeared with a slight shredded look to the stems so I strongly suspect a fox) however I've no idea what that is.

Possibly woodlouse - I stopped growing strawberries because I got fed up of finding holes in them. I’d often find the woodlice still in the bigger holes so knew it was them.

Incase anyone is interested I've solved the mystery! I picked up the plant pot and there were two ear wigs and loads of their little, light brown babies underneath!

Interesting!

Pieceofpurplesky · 01/07/2019 08:59

Noooo. Shouldn't have read this as I have a phobia of earwigs

WellTidy · 01/07/2019 09:16

Do you have dahlias in your garden by any chance? I find that dahlias attract loads of earwigs to my garden.

StarlitTrees · 01/07/2019 14:18

I do have a dahlia in a pot on my wall actually.
I'm hoping now that I've moved the strawberries they won't find them again. I doubt it though!

This has happened to my strawbs this year! Very annoying. Can I pick them anyway (after shaking the biggest off), cut holes away and give them a good clean?!

I caught a wood pigeon red-handed yesterday. They have been breakfasting on my strawbs.

Woodlice here too :(
