Asking for a cutting

A house a few streets away had a gorgeous Chinese Virginia Creeper. I love it and really fancy it for my garden. Would it be really weird to knock the door and ask for a cutting? Confused

not at all - gardeners love giving cuttings

PurpleWithRed · 17/06/2019 14:15

Nope, I would be highly flattered if someone did this.

I'd be flattered too, go for it!

Donkey’s years ago I asked for a cutting of a miniature lilac, I was given several, they all grew and are now decades old. I have in turn given cuttings to many friends so goodness knows how many plants now exist from the original! Spread the love.

Not in the slightest, go for it.

Happy days 😁 It wouldn't bother me personally but just wanted to make sure 👍🏼

I would love an orange blossom cutting from the house down the road but the people are a bit cats-bum Sad

@wtffgs if you're near Exeter I have one and I'm happy to give a cutting

Thanks Moon but I'm hundreds of miles north. I even have a blooming OB shrub bit theirs is better (different variety - simple flower with a purplish centre)
