Peonies

We have a rather generic red peony which we want to move to make way for a rather nicer one we got at Wisley. The current one we will reposition elsewhere, it's very nice, but not as lovely as the newbie, and it takes up a really prominent spot in the garden. Might even divide the clump.

When is the best time to do this?

September-ish. Cut old foliage, lift and divide if necessary. If we have a dry spell in autumn water it lots!

I expect you know, but don't replant it too deeply.
