Someone gave me a clump of these & I love them, although they are taller than I expected! Please could someone tell me what they are? The flowers are pale yellow in case that doesn't show up. Do I cut out the flower stems when they die to encourage more? Anything else I should know? Thank you :)

Yes, that's definitely it, thank you. So it looks like I remove dead flowers individually if I don't want it to self seed. I don't mind if it does, but don't want to prevent it from flowering more.

They just seem to look after themselves and are pretty. They don't seem very common & I googled every way I could think of & couldn't find it, so thanks again.

It's Iris Sissyrinchium. It will clump and also self seed. Don't bother dead heading it will look after itself quite happily.

Thank you. I don't know why there aren't more of them around. They are pretty & very easy to look after!

I don't find it self-seeds anywhere near the extent of the smaller sisyrinchiums.
