Morning. My ds brought home from nursery a seed in some dry compost and a cardboard type pot. The idea was to plant the whole thing in a bigger pot and see what appears. Unfortunately everything fell out and I've no idea what seed it was. Where the soil had spilt there was a butternut squash type seed so I just stuck it in and watered it. It now looks like the attached photo. I haven't got any squash seeds or any other seeds in fact so it must have been the one in the pot. They usually do sunflowers but it's definitely not a sunflower.

What could this be please?

Could be a courgette or a swuash

Yes, that's OK for a butternut squash.

So it will be some sort of squash, so butternut squash, courgette, pumpkin, marrow, ornamental gourd. It'll be fun to find out which!
