Passionflower problem - please help

I have to get a new section of fence for my garden as the old panel is rotten and has left a big gap between mine and next door's garden. I already have fence posts in place, so it's just a case of buying a new fencing panel and slotting it in.

However, there's a beautiful passionflower growing up the broken bit of fence and onto a piece of trellis above it. How can I replace the fence while doing the least damage possible to the passionflower? Any ideas/advice would be very gratefully received!

Can you try and detach as much as possible (use scissors to snip the tendrils) and lay it out of the way on the ground while the new panel is slotted in?

If you have to cut it quite heavily it ought to recover at this time of year - mine's sprouting everywhere along the length of the vines Grin

A prune should encourage new, vigorous growth.

Once the new panel is in get some wires/ netting added for support.
