Propagating roses...

I have some standard roses.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I really like them that much anymore as standards...

I want to grow them as actual bushes, that means that I have to propagate them right?

So I’ll have them growing on their roots.

But how do I do this?

Is it like gooseberries where I just cut off a stem, plonk in soil and they very helpfully grow roots for me and mature into separate plants?

I've never tried it, but these instructions look quite straightforward www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/grow-plants/how-to-take-rose-cuttings/
