I have been fighting a losing battle with this which is in patches all over my gravel path. I have been told that nothing you can buy will kill it, so have just been trying to dig it out with little success!

Please tell me someone has found something that will eradicate it

Thank you 🙏

I've never used one, but weeding wands are well-recommended for zapping weeds on patios and paths.

It flings out bits of root, like a root seed, when you do dig it up.

You will never get rid of it.

I'm sorry, but no - not in my experience. I am fighting a losing battle against it too - but in all my pots. Even in bloody pots it seems to spread and be impossible to eradicate.
But am watching with interest in case someone has the answer!

Yeah, that is your life now. Better get used to it's lovely yellow flowers. I think is it beautiful!

You could try scraping back all your gravel, putting down the heaviest duty membrane and covering with new gravel?

You'll have to be on the constant lookout for new plants and pull them out while they are still teeny baby seedlings though.

Oh good grief! - really?

I was sure there would be an easy answer that I'd just not heard of Sad

Sackrifice - Flinging bits of itself around whilst being dug up - by me on hands and knees- is just taking the mickey!

Funds do not permit excavation of gravel path - it's also spreading to gravel drive too. Also in my flower pots Wobbly (watch out for your gravel)

Never heard of a weed wand cwg1 - will go investigate and thanks for suggestion.

I agree Lazy, it's very pretty. In the singular, under glass and surrounded by armed guards Grin

If I ever find an answer, I'll dig up this thread and report back.

Get a swoe. Or a swoe attachment for the end of a multi tool. Do it standing up and don't break you back.

I’m also plagued with this. I have a hot wand weeder, it burns the tops, but the roots are invincible.

NanTheWiser · 21/05/2019 12:35

It's a pest in my garden too, you can kill it with glyphosate weedkiller, by carefully spot treating it, but as the seeds explode everywhere it does Cary on popping up.
