Cost of Landscaping?

Hi, Mumsnetters!
We’re planning on doing some landscaping in the garden after summer, including levelling the garden into two zones : it’s a 25x9m plot with a slight slope (nothing major) towards the bottom of the garden
Adding a couple of steps between these two levels
Adding a low retaining wall to the left along half the length (ideally brick but we’ll see!)
Replacing a section of wooden fencing to the bottom and right length

Any idea of costs? Has anyone done any similar work? We live in the southeast of England. Thank you!!

£13500 for my 8m x 5 m. Very similar to what you are proposing. This included lighting and clearing the old garden. It took 3 men 3 weeks.
Seems a lot but my son paid £3000 just for a smaller garden
Just laid to all patio. I was very happy with mine. A lot of money goes on clearance fees and recycling. They charge more if you don’t have street access.

A good way to get estimates is to look in the Marshalls catalogue. They have a list of approved landscapers. I did my own design which they followed, so did not charge for design.

First quote in: we decided not to do the two levels, mainly because of small children, and the retaining wall will be made of concrete gravel boards. The amount quoted is just short of 5k, including labour and materials and clearance. We’re still waiting for another couple of quotes.

That's really cheap!

I did something very similar a few years ago in a similar sized space and our bill was about £12k. It was the levelling that cost so much because of the skips/diggers/labour involved.
