Have had this plant in my garden for years. It’s got a trunk type stem to it and this year we’ve noticed it’s growing up in various places near to the big plant. Not anywhere else in garden and been there 12 years without any probs. Have read knotweed spreads quick and this hasn’t.

I don't think it's Japanese knotweed No. RHS have an identification service if you join.

No. If you had knot weed it’d probably be breaking into your house by now.

yamadori · 18/05/2019 12:25

You will be relieved to know that it isn't.

Having said that, I don't know what it is Grin (although looks rather like blackthorn)

No, that is not Japanese Knotweed. The latter has a pin/red hollow stem that looks a bit like rhubarb. I don't know what your plant is, though.

Not JK I think it’s Snowberry, small pink flowers then largish white berries. It creeps along putting up individual tough stalks. Ok, but has to be kept under control.

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 18/05/2019 22:42

No, not knotweed.

Beekeeper1 · 18/05/2019 22:45

Agree with beebumble2 - snowberry
