I thought a beech, but now I see the flowers I'm not so sure. Leaves are a gorgeous pale green and look beechy. It self seeded and appeared in my garden. Fast growing.

Could it be a viburnum? That’s a shrub rather than a tree but the flowers look right.

I think it is a whitebeam, sorbus aria - a native species.

Definitely a Whitebeam, the white fluffy undersides of the leaves gives it away.

White beam. Have a beautiful specimen at the bottom of my garden - at its best in the early morning sunshine.
