Hi, anyone any ideas what either of these are or are they just weeds? Thanks!

The second photo looks like lemon balm. Do the leaves smell a bit lemony if you rub them?

waddlewhisky81 · 14/05/2019 17:26

Yes they do! Off to google more info, thanks 😄

Is the first one oregano?

waddlewhisky81 · 14/05/2019 17:30

Doesn't smell like it could be?

I love lemon balm. It makes a tasty tea. Be warned, though, that it likes to spread itself everywhere!

The leaves look very similar to the oregano I have in my garden (next to the rampant lemon balm!). But if it doesn't smell of oregano must be something else 🤷‍♀️

There is a LOT of it already, may have to remove some in the autumn. Will definitely be making tea with it

Hmm to the first pic. I'm going to just have to leave them in and see what they do, if anything. A lot of them as well, mainly covering a weedy bed so all good. Thanks

He first looks similar to something I have in my garden, it's tall and upright with yellow flowers, re-seeds itself and spreads... I'm not sure what it's called though but it might be yellow loosestrife

Yes, it's the same. Nice to know it flowers then. It's everywhere and literally sprung from nowhere. Thanks so much!
