Please help me correct a stupid soil error

I’ve done a stupid thing in the garden and need your advice on how to fix it please. Having read that coffee grounds were good for the soil and deterring slugs, I somehow thought it would be a good idea to sprinkle a large bag of stale unused coffee grounds all around my raised beds.

After the revelation that it might not be so great to feed my kids caffeinated cucumbers I googled how much is too much coffee in the soil and found info on how acidic it is and how it’s generally rubbish for growing anything. How can I fix it? Is there some magic thing I can sprinkle on top to neautralise it? I planted out a billion seedlings yesterday and could cry at the idea of trying to lift off the top layer of soil somehow.

It was a large 500g bag of unused ground coffee and I've spread it over about 4 square metres. Blush

How large a bag are we talking.

I don’t know a lot about coffee and soil but if it’s made it more acidic maybe adding some lime could neutralise it. I remember my dad saying they used to do it regularly every few years for that reason. Mind you they also used DDT on their roses so it might be worth googling a bit first.

you should be fine.
that's not a lot for quite a large area, so will have not much an effect on the soil.

Phew! I've been searching about Lime and it seems you need to add masses of anything to make any difference
