Plant ID request - another lemony one

A neglected teracotta pot is overrun with a mystery plant - earlier i thought it was chickweed but it has different shaped leaves, and it is very lemony smelling, as if it was a herb. I dont recall planting lemon thyme or anything, and there is so much of it, filling the large pot. Anyone recognise the seedlings?

Smells fresh and lemony and the leaves are firm, not thin like basil.

Lemon balm ?

DustyDoorframes · 05/05/2019 19:44

That's not lemon balm, lemon balm is tall and has serrated leaves.
It does look quite thyme-y!

Might it be Lemon Thyme?

I think it is marjoram, which has a lemony scent.

Exciting but perplexing. I am in the habit of sowing things and they dont come up for several years. Quite sure i had dill in this pot last year. I had some purslane seeds somewhere but purslane is not citrussy. A google search matches majoram but i dont recall having sown it Blush i will leave it in and see. Thankyou everyone for your help.

I did once plant scatter about wild thyme seeds so perhaps that is it. It is mich more lemony than garden centre thyme so i am not sure. I will post an update!
