Any one else's veggie patch going to hell due to constant rain and no sun?

Never seen so many slugs and no chance the tomatoes will ripen as we have approx 3 minutes sun every day! How's a girl supposed to lower her carbon footprint I ask you?

Same here.I've been growing my own veg for over 10 years & never known a summer like it.

It is doubling galling as veg prices this year will go through the roof due to the bad weather,so I'll have to buy rather than use our own from the freezer.

Just pulled up my potatoes as they have black rot because of the rain.what a bloody washout. onlt 6lbs from 30 plants. pathetic.
i sincerely doubt that i will even have a green tomato.
am wet and depressed.

We've lost all our tomatoes to blight And my melons, squashes and aubergines are sulking almost as much as I am!

My whole garden
I have a north west facing garden which is quite shaded in areas and I tend to get a lot of slugs and snails bit this year they've taken over and everyting is shredded.
I've accepted defeat

Yes! I'm gutted. My toms are tiny hard green things and there are no signs of any aubergines. Even the pear tree looks like there's not going to be a lot of fruit - it's just impossible for anything to ripen in all this rain.

I've not bothered putting in anything else - got too depressed

I've been growing squashes and they've all dropped off looking eaten/mushed - any ideas?

Peas,potatoes and corgettes really good so far.
Tomatoes lots of them but all green.
Not many raspberries or strawberries
Carrotts seem ok.

bimblin, combination of wet and slugs. Horrible year for them. Try putting straw around the plants and under the pumpkins, keep them a bit dryer and less slug-attractive.

My tomatoes are sulking, and I have moved to a garden with very poor sandy soil so my courgettes are just sitting there doing nothing. Boo hoo.

oh don;t even go there re tomatoes

peas potatoes and rhubarb all fine ...

however: turnips, beetroot, and shallots all rotted in the ground.

tomatoes just looking sorry for themselves.

courgettes producing flowers but no veg.

sweetcorn just not growing.

Bimblin _ as least your squashes have squashed mine have hardly grown since I planted them out in mid may.
Liked curiouscats description " sulking". Thats excactly like mine
Have had a few beans , spring onionsand lettuce is fine (raised beds) but not a squash in sight!
