Potted Alliums - stupid question alert!

If I buy a potted allium does the plant have only one stem/one flower globe? Or does each plant grow a few stems/flower globes?

As PP days, one bulb, but each bulb will produce more - like daffs. See the RHS website for more info- it's always very informative.
