Hi, these plants have started growing in my rockery. Anyone know if they are going to be lovely flowers or pesky weeds? Many thanks in advance

They look like honesty seedlings. They will not flower until next year as they are bi annuals. Also they’re large plants for a rockery.
I could be wrong, someone else might have a better idea.

If it’s a new garden to you, and an established rockery, it could be one of the low growing campanulas in which case it will have pretty purple flowers.

Looks like jack by the hedge/garlic mustard to me. If it comes up with little white flowers, that’s what it is. It’s a weed but at least you can eat it Grin

The rockery is old but we shifted it around a bit to accommodate a new fence.
I shall leave them to see what happens.

agree with garlic mustard- crush one of the leaves and have a sniff

Beekeeper1 · 02/05/2019 17:05

Agreed - garlic mustard! If you have rejigged your rockery, disturbance of the soil will have caused the 'seedbank' to commence germination. Although it seeds freely and can be invasive it is, nontheless, a pretty wildflower, in the right location and the main food source for Orangetip butterfly caterpillars!

I reckon garlic mustard too. If it is it's technically a weed but quite tasty in salad /pasta!
