Can anyone help me with cherry laurel?

I bought these 5 cherry laurel from Groupon, in hope of growing a beautiful boundary that doesn't cost too much. I have put them in pots to grow on and plan to put them in position next spring once we have done our garden.

Problem is they do not look too healthy. I stripped one of its leaves soon after it arrived as they were all dead and cut them all down by half to encourage growth. Can anyone please advise on how to get them happy again?

Get them in the ground as soon as possible

... keep well watered, and hope for the best

If you can’t plant them until next spring, then repot them into much larger pots, at least twice the size of the ones their in. Water them well, twice a week.

Set them on fire. It's ghastly stuff.
