Can anyone help resolve a disagreement as to what these weeds are please? (Third time trying to post this. Hope it only comes up once!)

Those look like foxgloves to me.

That's what I think too. My husband disagrees but offers no alternative identification. His reasoning is that they are very large and started coming up really early (late Feb). We have foxglove elsewhere and they are only just beginning in the last week or so.

Agree, our foxgloves are now dinner plate size.

Frangipane · 21/04/2019 13:23

Definitely foxgloves. Leave one and let it flower and then your dh will know for sure.

Your husband is wrong, those are foxgloves

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 21/04/2019 13:26

You husband could be thinking of borage as both leaves are very similar.

Thanks all for the speedy and helpful replies (I knew I was right!). Will post a picture when they flower. Very pleased actually as this is otherwise a dead space and I love foxglove.

Foxgloves are toxic - if you have small children, might be a consideration

peridito · 21/04/2019 17:01

or comfrey ?

sackrifice · 21/04/2019 17:02

Those are not comfrey.
