Anyone have this?
We're looking at getting it fitted.
We have a standard new build smallish crappy lawn at the moment.

don't
it looks awful after a couple of years.
it's as dead as if you were to tarmac your garden over.
if you were spending as much time & money installing a proper lawn it would be really lovely.

Just over seed your current lawn. Really artificial lawns look crap even the hugely expensive ones. As soon as you get up to them it's very obvious you've plastic grass.

NotMaryWhitehouse · 17/04/2019 08:08

Sorry, they're awful - my comment is the same as on a previous post: if you wouldn't cover your garden in plastic bin bags, don't cover it in plastic grass.

So tacky, even if you aren't bothered about the impact on wildlife/the environment.

Going to buck the trend here and say I love ours.

All well and good having a proper lawn if you have time to tend to it and time to clean the mess of kids and dogs traipsing in and out.

If not then go fake. I've never regretted ours and I've had it for over 5 years.

Finfintytint · 17/04/2019 09:14

Despite the tacky nature of it why would you want to add more plastic to the world?

Finfintytint · 17/04/2019 09:16

Ilovewinterpansies, what do you use to keep it clean after dog fouling?

AmIAWeed · 17/04/2019 09:26

We don't have it but I totally get the attraction.
The argument of 'may as we tarmac' from an environmental point of view is to me not valid. If you aren't a gardener or don't have time then you may as well have something you want to look at.
Depending on the spot as well grass can be hard work, if it's shady for example.
I adore tropical gardens and lots of people use artificial grass so they can have the look of big lush plants AND have the green of grass.
I wouldn't use on a large area but small troublesome spots or tiny gardens it can work.

Tacky and disastrous for our wildlife. Hedgehogs and birds can't get worms and slugs from plastic.
